[00:00:15] Amy: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the holistic health show. I'm excited to have Kelly Stevens on the show today. Kelly is a regenerative health practitioner, and she's going to talk to us all about fruits and the impact on our body of healthy eating and what happens when we're not healthy eating.

[00:00:32] Amy: And to get started, Kelly, I just want you to take it away and tell us who you are and a little bit about why you do what you do.

[00:00:38] Kelly Stephens: Awesome. Well, thank you so much, Amy, for having me. I'm excited to have this conversation with you, kind of share my knowledge. I am the founder of Eye On Healing. So kind of the basics between Eye On Healing is I use your eye to be able to heal your body. So I'll kind of get into that a little bit deeper, but it's pretty cool.

[00:00:55] Kelly Stephens: So just a little bit about me. My backstory is. kind of fascinating and how I got here.

[00:00:59] Kelly Stephens: It started kind of when I was 16 years old. I, I was very healthy. I grew up very healthy. I grew up healthy according to the food pyramid. You know, my parents fed me according to the food pyramid. You know, they were, they did what they were told. They did what they believe was right. And I was very relatively healthy.

[00:01:13] Kelly Stephens: My family was relatively healthy. I was young. We had no health issues in the family. So until I was 16, my dad all of a sudden got crazy sick out of nowhere and had to get a liver transplant. And it turns out he had this genetic disease that I had as well. And so I was told like, don't drink, don't smoke and you might be [00:01:30] okay, you know, but we don't know if you're going to get this or not, and it's like,

[00:01:33] Kelly Stephens: Really?

[00:01:33] Kelly Stephens: At 16 years old, I mean, you're not thinking about that at all. You're just like, okay, when am I getting my car? Like, what, what am I going to wear to school? You know, you're not thinking about health. And so I kind of just lived my life.

[00:01:44] Kelly Stephens: I didn't really think about it. I went off to ASU and I partied. I did every drug. I did all the things they told me not to do. I did all of that. You know, I had my fun and I really didn't think about it. My dad, my dad was fine. He actually had the liver transplant and he actually got healthy.

[00:01:57] Kelly Stephens: He's still living today. He just turned 71 years old yesterday. But I found myself kind of at ASU just, you know, Overeating over partying over drinking and just not having any energy not feeling good And I just remember I was down in Rocky Point Mexico and I was down there on a party trip and I remember looking out the window and seeing these people running on the beach and I was like I want to do that.

[00:02:19] Kelly Stephens: That looks like something I want to do, I was 41 pounds heavier than I am today. I made that decision right then and there. I was like, I don't want to live like this anymore.

[00:02:27] Kelly Stephens: I mean, I didn't like how I felt. I remember showering and just not having any energy and just feeling just like how am I gonna get through today? You know, like it was just it was hard I remember my my arms were so big they wouldn't fit in t shirts and it was so embarrassing for me to try to wear t shirts because my arms were too big for these Because I was a small my frame was small, but my arms were not small And so it was hard for me to wear clothes close and it was just, I was a struggle and I was just like, I don't want to live like this anymore.

[00:02:52] Kelly Stephens: And so I changed everything.

[00:02:53] Kelly Stephens: I started really learning. Okay. If I eat. This really healthy food over here. I can eat tons of plants, like a huge salad and a [00:03:00] ton, ton of food, as opposed to like maybe one piece of candy, you know, so it's like, Oh, what can I eat and what makes me feel good? And so I dove into kind of the nutrition on food and what they have and what they bring us.

[00:03:11] Kelly Stephens: And so I just really kind of got fascinated in that.

[00:03:14] Kelly Stephens: And so just kind of kept going. I'm like, what is the answer? And I actually ended up breaking my neck. . I broke

[00:03:19] Kelly Stephens: My neck working out. I woke up one day and I couldn't lift anything over my head. And so it was this crazy, like, I didn't even know it was broken for a whole month. Like an entire month I went and just had pain and the doctors were like, it's just sore, it's fine, I'm like, no, like there's something wrong with my neck.

[00:03:35] Kelly Stephens: I have pictures and videos of me doing cartwheels on the beach when my neck is broken because it was a stable fracture. But I'm like, oh my gosh, like they didn't even think to x ray me, you know?

[00:03:44] Kelly Stephens: That was kind of my final straw with the Western medical medicine industry

[00:03:47] Kelly Stephens: I went. Three times and finally that third time we're like, let's just do an x ray just in case and it's like, oh my gosh, you know, I could have paralyzed myself

[00:03:56] Kelly Stephens: so me breaking my neck was the catalyst to actually catapulting to this level of health that I never even thought was possible. So I broke my neck. I was told by my spine doctor, I would always have pain and I had a lot of pain, like chronic pain. And if you deal with chronic pain, I feel for you because it sucks.

[00:04:13] Kelly Stephens: And I was told I'd have to have this forever. And at the time I was a healthy fitness eater cause I ate what I believed was healthy and I would have eggs every morning and I have lean protein every day and have my protein meals.

[00:04:23] Kelly Stephens: And I ate exactly what they told me to do in the fitness nutrition that I went through. And I, I, I ended up taking a gut [00:04:30] test and it turns out I had not a good gut. I had major protein fermentation, eggs were causing inflammation. I was having so many issues and I was like, wait, but what?

[00:04:39] Kelly Stephens: And so in my reading and all this stuff, I kept coming back to , the alkalinity. So I was like, let me just cut out meat. Let me cut out meat. Let me cut out all these like plant animal proteins and all the animal products. And let me see what happens. And My health changed. My health completely transformed.

[00:04:53] Kelly Stephens: My fitness transformed. My body transformed. My muscles transformed. Everything transformed. I dropped my protein from like over a hundred grams down to a lot lower and it's just been transformative to me.

[00:05:03] Amy: It sounds like , you were doing macros, you were eating X amount of protein, doing your carbs, you know, eating healthy in, in regards to kind of what they say is as a general standard.

[00:05:15] Amy: But not necessarily eating to your body and then you've done this gut test and so, you've modified your diet to that.

[00:05:22] Amy: And then how long after that did you start to see a difference or, you know, feel, , feel within yourself, the energy levels and the, you know, the health impacts, the positive health impacts from doing that.

[00:05:33] Kelly Stephens: For sure. Yeah, so I changed over. I cut out all animal products. In like November 2019, but I really quickly, I kind of transitioned to that and there's so many products out there now. And so with my nutrition brain, I'm like very quickly saw like.

[00:05:47] Kelly Stephens: just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's healthy. And I could easily go to that junk food side of stuff I would never eat before just because it's vegan. So thankfully I found Dr. Robert Morris like a couple months into my journey and I was like, [00:06:00] light bulb. That was my light bulb moment of like, this is the reason people get sick.

[00:06:03] Kelly Stephens: And it led me to raw foods. And so I've eaten mostly living raw foods kind of a couple months into my vegan journey. And I'm like a high, high raw eater, not a hundred percent, but I eat mostly fruits and vegetables. Yeah. And that transforms. . I think I cut coffee within a couple months.

[00:06:18] Kelly Stephens: I never looked back, never had coffee again. I don't need it. Like I have so much energy on fruit. It's, it's crazy, but yeah, like the skin, the energy, I saw it really quickly.

[00:06:28] Amy: I guess a lot of that is you're cutting out so many additives and not natural foods. It's interesting that you've said about, you know, you can eat vegan and plant based and still not be healthy. A lot of people, I get the comment a lot because I'm gluten free, so I have celiac disease, so I'm very strict.

[00:06:44] Amy: with what I eat. And a lot of people say, Oh, you must be so healthy. And I'm like, if you look at all the gluten free foods that are made in the supermarket, like unless you're making these things at home, you're making everything from scratch. . It's not, it's really unhealthy. Like, if you look at the back of a gluten free packet or like a gluten free bread, it, these, these things are not healthy, right? And people just see, oh, it's gluten free and vegan. That must be so good for you. And it's actually full of stuff that you don't really want to eat and it's not really all that nice actually.

[00:07:14] Kelly Stephens: I a hundred percent agree. Like, it's, Because I try to stay away from oil. I notice oil makes me feel really off. And I, and if I have to, maybe, maybe avocado or, or olive, but I even stay away from that. And I just, I feel so much better, you know, but it's in everything, especially the gluten free products [00:07:30] and it's in all that.

[00:07:31] Amy: I'd love to know, just when we first started chatting, you were saying that you use the eyes.

[00:07:36] Amy: Yeah. So I'm really interested in this. You know, you hear in Chinese medicine when you go, you know, you go to acupuncture and things, they always look at your tongue. They have a good look at your tongue, and you know, I'm always interested in that. So what is it about the eyes?

[00:07:49] Kelly Stephens: Yeah, so I actually studied, iridology. So it's something that Dr. Robert Morse teaches. It's lymphatic iridology. So it's the science of the basically the lymph system and the reflection of it in your eyes. So everything in your eye, the colored part in your eye corresponds to a different organ.

[00:08:05] Kelly Stephens: So when I look at your eyes, I can see the condition of your gut. I can see your thyroid. I can see your kidneys. I can see your your adrenal health. I can see your genetics. So how strong your body is going to be when we actually start trying to heal it and bring in, when we eliminate the things that are causing it problems, and we bring in the things that are going to heal it, how long is that going to take?

[00:08:23] Kelly Stephens: So with my eye on healing practice, I look at your eye, but I also correlate that with functional blood work because people love blood work and they do blood work all the time. So functional blood work is a little bit tighter ranges than traditional blood work. Traditional blood work is really based on the averages.

[00:08:36] Kelly Stephens: And I mean, as a population, we are getting sicker and sicker and sicker. So those averages are moving out and out and out. Those averages will keep you off of medication. So if you go to the doctor and he's like, Oh, your blood looks great. It's like, cool. You're not on medication today. It doesn't mean your blood looks great at all.

[00:08:51] Kelly Stephens: The doctor told me I was no longer anemic. But when I dug into my blood, I'm like, I'm clearly still anemic. What is he talking about? He didn't even run my iron. So it was just like, it's [00:09:00] so frustrating to me with doctors too. And even with thyroid stuff, they'll put you on medication for your TSH being up or lower high.

[00:09:06] Kelly Stephens: And that is not an indicator. If your thyroid is off, that's an indicator of pituitary functioning. So So it's really frustrating for me because I'm like, Oh, so let's dig into your liver from a functional range. Look at the tighter things and it'll give you like red flags a lot sooner. So you could say, okay, my liver is struggling a little bit here.

[00:09:21] Kelly Stephens: Like I probably need to think about giving it some liver healing foods and maybe stop drinking. You know, I see that a lot with people stress. I see stress a lot in people's bodies. It's like the number one thing I see when I look at people's blood work and if they're doing like these crazy workouts as well on the external stress, They're just, they're, they're adrenals are just shoot, you know?

[00:09:38] Kelly Stephens: And then it's just putting it together with the blood work in the eyes. It's so cool because it literally, it almost matches. And it's so cool. Cause you're like, okay, look, you're thyroid struggling over here, but look at your eyes, you know? And it's, it's a really cool thing to kind of put that together and then give someone a protocol to, okay, what do we do?

[00:09:52] Kelly Stephens: Like, how do we put the body in a position to heal itself? Because I truly believe the body can overcome anything, but we have to get out of its way. Like we always throw things at it. Like that's the number one thing people say. And they're like, Oh. I don't feel good. What can I take? I'm like, stop. What can you eliminate?

[00:10:08] Kelly Stephens: Like, what are you putting in your body that you shouldn't be putting in your body? Because I can guarantee it's a lot.

[00:10:12] Amy: , that's a very good point. It it really speaks to, you know, just doing something before you get to this extreme where you're so sick. And I always like to say, cause I, you know, I worked as a paramedic and I always thought, what can, what can these people be doing to stop them from needing to call us?

[00:10:28] Amy: You know, and in some cases, there's [00:10:30] nothing because it's an accident, but in other cases, it's like, you know, you treat them. They go to the hospital. They get their medication. They go home and they do the same thing. And then the next month they're back in the ambulance and sounds like this is sort of You know, it's an approach that will stop that from happening because before you're overwhelmed with symptoms, you're noticing that your body needs to, you need to make some modifications to, , have a better impact on your body and have it function much more optimally.

[00:10:58] Kelly Stephens: And even a slow approach is better than no approach, you know? And like, you don't have to do these crazy long detoxes and these crazy long fasts, because I think people get really scared when I'm like, well, let's do a detox. And they're like, I'm not doing a juice fast. I'm not doing a water fast. You know, you don't have to do that.

[00:11:13] Kelly Stephens: Even going just for Plant based for some people is huge, huge, you know, I work with people with arthritis and even just eliminating foods that are going to cause pain and the foods that are bringing acid to the body is huge. You know? So it's like, you don't have to do this crazy, crazy detox, but if you're really sick and you really want to heal and you've, you've got some symptoms, yeah, there, there's a place for that as well, too, you know.

[00:11:35] Amy: Yeah, and I'm sure there's something to be said about, you know, weaning off these things, because for some people, yep, you can just switch and go, no, I'm changing today and this is how I'm going to approach it. This is what I'm going to eat. I'll make my list, like, you know, I'll do my grocery shop.

[00:11:48] Amy: I'll change all this and I'm ready. But , some people, it takes a little bit of time. So wean off it, have less. Cut out one thing, then another, and I think it sounds like that's something that you [00:12:00] help, , clients adapt in a way that gives them long term results and something they can change their lifestyle long term instead of like, as you mentioned, the fad diets or the yo yoing back and forth

[00:12:10] Amy: right? Do you want to be back here next year?

[00:12:12] Kelly Stephens: And I always ask people too. I'm like, what is your health goal? You know, like, do you want like a level 10 health and you're super, super like on this crazy level? Cause level 10 health requires a lot of work, , or do you, are you just okay with a level six? You know, if you want a level six and you can have some fast food, you can go out to eat, you know, there's certain things that it's okay.

[00:12:28] Kelly Stephens: Having that optimal health, you know, when I'm 70 years old and I'm climbing mountains, I'm feeling amazing. I'm waking up every day with energy. And there's, there's a guy that lives out here in California, Luke Corona. He's 72 years old.

[00:12:38] Kelly Stephens: He does planks like they're like these crazy long planks. And I'm like, this is the most vitality I've ever seen. That's what I want, you know, and that's a level 10. So it's like, maybe, you know, those choices I'm making today are going to bring me to that later,

[00:12:51] Amy: I really have this view. And I know not everybody has it and I have, do have conversations with, you know, people in my circle about this, , I want to be active when I'm 80, I want to do all the things now that mean when I'm 80, I'm still getting out of bed and going and doing all Everything I want to do, you know, I don't want to look at my life as once I hit 60 It's all downhill because I'm gonna lose energy I I don't I don't want to to view my days now as that's what I have to look forward to then

[00:13:20] Kelly Stephens: Yeah. It's interesting for me. I just turned 40 and I feel better in my forties than I did in my thirties

[00:13:26] Kelly Stephens: how most people feel, you know, it's more like, Oh, well, just wait till you get older. I'm like, [00:13:30] I am 40 and I feel amazing every day. I have energy every day. I go to the gym. I lift tons of weights. Like I do yoga. Like I'm so active, you know, like I feel great. It's amazing. Like the health and vitality that you can feel when you feed the body the right foods. And really do the right things. It's not just about food. I know we always talk like food, food, food, food, food, but it's holistic.

[00:13:49] Kelly Stephens: You know,, what are you feeding your mind? I'm huge on products. What are the toxic products you're putting on your body? I just kind of took it a higher level than like clean products. And now I'm not using pore clogging ingredients on my skin or my scalp anymore.

[00:14:01] Kelly Stephens: I want to look fantastic. So I'm even taking it a step higher than the clean products now, but I think it's important. So important to know what you're putting on your skin because we absorb 60 percent of what we put on our skin.

[00:14:13] Amy: absolutely. And I mean, anyone listening, this doesn't happen overnight. You're not making all these changes. You're not going out and switching out all your products, all of your, you know, clothing, all of your foods, all of your cleaning products, your laundry detergent. You're not doing that overnight.

[00:14:28] Amy: It's a process and you're just learning as you go. I started a couple of years ago, changing what laundry detergent I use on my own clothing and what cleaning products and my husband does still like to use some of the, the more harsher chemicals, but he's under strict orders to do that when I'm not in the house and I know I'm still, you know, around those surfaces, but if you're going to do it, you have to limit when you do it.

[00:14:52] Amy: And I do not want to be around When you do, and I noticed a big change in my health and, you know, my sinuses and my head, like a [00:15:00] headache when he's used those, I can tell, I can tell when I come home and it just, it speaks volumes because we are, we're absorbing everything we touch or we're exposed to in the air.

[00:15:10] Amy: And I'm like you with the products for my face, for my hair. And I did not get here overnight that you know and sure it's not with everything I do. I can't say that I'm all encompassing of, of this you know all natural lifestyle, but I do try where I can and I find what I'm comfortable with and it has made a big difference.

[00:15:29] Amy: Absolutely. And you were saying about it being holistic. So I have a girlfriend, she was actually here last night, we were chatting about, you know, she goes to the gym, she's really active, and she's like, but I still look like this, now she looks great, right, but there's some changes that she'd like to make, and she's like, I want to look like I go to the gym.

[00:15:47] Amy: I want to look and I said, well, that's the food, as we were having a glass of wine together and eating cheese, I was like, that's the food, you know, cause she was referring to some of the girls that we see on Instagram, and they look amazing. And she's like, but I feel like I work out as much as them.

[00:16:03] Amy: I said, but you don't eat like that. I think, you know, it's not, you can't just do one, you can't just do the food or just do the gym and expect to have, , the, the perfect gym body, you know, that she wants to have. I was like, we should not be here on a Wednesday night, having a glass of wine and eating some cheese together.

[00:16:21] Amy: If that's what you want to look like. And I said, you know, and it's fine to do these things. And absolutely. I'm sure that, you know, the girls who have the, those, Those [00:16:30] bodies that she would like to aspire to do that once in a while. I said, but you know, what did you have for lunch as well? And she's like, Oh yeah.

[00:16:36] Amy: Okay. You know? So it is, it's holistic and it's a lifestyle commitment.

[00:16:40] Kelly Stephens: And what you don't see with those Instagram, just cause I'm like, I've been that girl. I've had that body. I've done that. You don't see the all the, like the restrictive eating and the food problems and like the food restrictions, the mental health problems that you go through. And, you know, the, the obsessions about food and, and honestly, like, I don't know many fitness people that have guts that are actually functioning a hundred percent? Because when you're eating that level of protein, your gut cannot function to the hundred percent. You're not having three bowel movements a day. You're not having all this fiber. Like you're not, they're not healthy. So it's like, I don't know very many trainers that don't have acne and skin problems and don't have gut problems.

[00:17:14] Kelly Stephens: So many people want to aspire to these fitness things that we see as an influencer. We see on Instagram, but that's not healthy.

[00:17:19] Kelly Stephens: It's tough though, because I mean, we think it is on the aesthetic. It's very aesthetic, but it's like, you've got to look inside, like what's going on with your gut, what's going on with your kidneys, what's going on with your adrenals.

[00:17:28] Kelly Stephens: If we're not eliminating, we're accumulating it. And if we're not eliminating these toxins, they're staying in the body, you know? So it's huge. And the high protein fitness lifestyle that these people are eating, it's just, it's, it's, Leading them towards a lot of pain in the body, a lot of acids and pains in the body and a lot of calcification and joint problems and arthritis.

[00:17:46] Kelly Stephens: And I see it a lot in the arthritis communities. People are getting arthritis in their thirties now and twenties now. And they're just because they work out so much and they eat these very acidic diets and they're just like, Oh, I can't even work out anymore. I'm in my 20 and 25, you know, [00:18:00] that's crazy.

[00:18:01] Amy: , you think you do, you're doing the best for yourself. And it's, like I said, it's a journey. It's all a learning process and it takes, like I, as I mentioned, it takes so much time, but I'm curious to know, when people come and see you . Are they kind of at their last, their wits end, say, you know, with, with the doctors, the traditional doc, Western doctors, how, what's the client experience?

[00:18:23] Amy: Like, how are they feeling when they first come see you typically? And then what's the journey look like as they're working with you?

[00:18:30] Kelly Stephens: I work with people that are very open to holistic, cause I'm not trying to convince you that this is the way, you know, you. You've heard that eating an anti inflammatory diet can help. You've heard that eating living foods can help, but you just don't know how to do it. , you want someone to help you.

[00:18:44] Kelly Stephens: You know, detox is scary. You know, you're told like, Oh, take all this stuff and do all this stuff. It could be really scary and you can have reactions if you don't do it right. So detox is scary. working with the right person that's kind of going to be there to support you is huge. So it's just people that are very open to the holistic way to heal the body and just don't know how to do it and they want help.

[00:19:02] Kelly Stephens: And so what I do with them is I slowly change their diet. So I love working with people. I love starting with people that eat a standard American diet or they eat a vegan junk food diet and they just don't feel good. And they, they know that they need to eat better because we all know we need to get better, but it's hard.

[00:19:17] Kelly Stephens: We don't know what we're told. Like arthritis. org tells people to eat. foods that are still causing pain in the body. So I'm like, it's just out there. It's just so confusing, you know? And so I, I try to make it simple. I step you down in five [00:19:30] weeks through an elimination diet and get you eating mostly raw foods.

[00:19:33] Kelly Stephens: And then after we kind of get the diet there, we bring in supportive herbs to help the body. Depending on where your eyes, so everyone's a little bit different. We're going to look at your eyes. We're going to look at your blood work and say, okay, we're What in your body actually needs support? Is it your kidneys?

[00:19:45] Kelly Stephens: Is it your thyroid? Is it, you know, is it lymphatic congestion? Do we need to pull a lot of lymph? Is it your gut? It's a mess. You know, what's going on in the body. So we'll kind of tailor that part to you. And we'll really work with like living food, mostly living foods. I try to get you to eat mostly living foods, but if you want to eat some steamed cooked vegetables here and there, it's okay too.

[00:20:02] Kelly Stephens: But yeah, just very clean for a few months. And then I teach you. How do you maintain this? How do you live this? Because you don't just do this once and you're you're here, you're done. You know, I've been at this for years. Like you said, it's a process. It's a slow thing.

[00:20:14] Amy: It's a process and Do you support them, , do you just give them this diet or are you kind of there to support them when they're, you know, facing challenges? And I guess what I mean by that is, you know, you have your partner at home.

[00:20:26] Amy: They may or may not be choosing to go on this journey with you. So you're, maybe you're cooking different meals or you have children who not willing to do this. They're just, they're not going to eat what, whatever you're putting in front of them. And so they want their chicken nuggets and their fries or whatever it is they're going to eat. , how are you helping, , men or women who are navigating and I'm not going to be doing this, but I'm going to be living with people in their homes who aren't also going to follow this with them

[00:20:48] Kelly Stephens: . In the program, I do tell people, I'm like, make everyone aware of what you're doing because you can't just be like, I'm going to jump into this program. Everyone needs to support you. So if that's your husband, that's your children, that's, they need to support you because they're, they're going to [00:21:00] know that this is important to you.

[00:21:00] Kelly Stephens: They're going to know that this is something you really want to do for your health. They're going to know that you're struggling and you need help and they're going to support, they're going to be there to support you.

[00:21:07] Kelly Stephens: And I also encourage, Like to share the foods because this, this food's a lot different. And even with children, I want children to eat more fruit, you know, I encourage them. I'm like, try, try to have your children have some smoothies.

[00:21:17] Kelly Stephens: And I've worked with a client one time and she never even cooked her meals. She ordered all these like meals from prepaid or pre made meals online. She would have them delivered all this. Now she has a garden in the backyard with her children and her children are involved. , and it all stemmed from just helping the mom. And so I'm like bringing in these habits because I mean, I'm not changing your diet to something crazy. I'm bringing in living food. Like the food that I'm bringing into the body is going to benefit everybody.

[00:21:42] Amy: We said about the social aspect, cause you, you want to still be social. It can feel quite anti social when you're doing this, cause you know, you're invited to dinner parties and then you have to bring your own meal.

[00:21:51] Amy: I've had to do that before. Well, People try to be very accommodating to special diets. It doesn't always work, and it, it, it's just, sometimes mistakes are made, you know? People can be well meaning, but They just don't know because they're not living it. So it can feel like, you're being really picky or, you know, why, why does it have to be so special for you?

[00:22:14] Amy: And it's just so important that, , anybody who's also choosing not to follow this lifestyle, you know, just don't make the comments. Don't make the, don't make the other person feel awkward because they're choosing to do something that they feel is good for them.

[00:22:28] Let's just everyone be really supportive [00:22:30] of the choices that people around them are making and if you don't have anything good to say about It just don't say it,

[00:22:34] Kelly Stephens: no, I have clients that have told me they're like scared to bring their own food to things because they don't want to be different, and having optimal health is different, you know, it is very different than the average person. Do you want to be average and have health problems?

[00:22:45] Kelly Stephens: Or do you want to be different and feel amazing? You know? So for me, I'm over it. I don't even care about, like, I bring my own food everywhere I go. But for me, like, I choose to eat healthy food. Like I choose fruit over things because I think it tastes better. I'd rather eat my meal than something else that they eat.

[00:23:00] Kelly Stephens: , I don't want to feel sick.

[00:23:02] Amy: It's amazing how when you stick to the diet long enough to feel the results, how much easier it is then to continue, , you've got to get over that hurdle, you've got to get over the cravings, and you know, the detoxing from all the sugar that you've, you know, you're not having now and the alcohol, , having the wine or whatever it is that you, you know, you like to have when you're socializing and whether or not you choose to do that in moderation afterwards, it's, it's all a detox and you've just got to get past that hurdle.

[00:23:27] Amy: And then you go, Oh, wow, this is actually, I'm not going back.

[00:23:31] Kelly Stephens: And it's tough though too because I mean going from eating a standard american diet to eating a lot of fruit It's hard. It was hard for me. It takes time. Like it's not an overnight thing. I work with people to kind of get there slowly, unless you're dealing with a terminal issue that you really don't have time and you just want to jump in and try it. I tell everyone just got to go slow,

[00:23:50] Amy: kelly, I'd love to share with everyone listening, you know, how they can get in touch with you. Any of your resources, I'll make sure that I get those and I'll pop them in the description of the video

[00:23:59] Amy: so those [00:24:00] are available to everyone, but you know, can you tell us how can people get in touch?

[00:24:03] Kelly Stephens: so I am in sunny Southern California, but I work with everybody online, and I can do anything online. . I can tell you what I need. And then I just tell you how to do a picture of your eye and you send me a picture of your eye and I do it all online. So it's really cool, but yeah, you can find me on Instagram. I'm healthy detox girl on Instagram.

[00:24:22] Kelly Stephens: You can find me on Facebook, Kelly Stevens on Facebook, and then I'm also on YouTube as Healthy Detox Girl. I just came out with a three day anti inflammatory diet reset. That's free for anyone. So it's a, it's a really good step into exactly what I'm talking about. I think there's only one cooked meal in there, so it's mostly living food really anti inflammatory food to help people with pain, but you'll get a really good taste of what it's like to eat raw food, what it's like to eat a lot of fruit and these smoothies and stuff.
